Beautiful, Quality Hat with Excellent Sun Protection!
Just beautiful! I have two, and the price is awesome for the quality! Got the darker brown earlier in the summer, and now this blonde one. Price is right, sun coverage is awesome – yes, you can wear it working in your garden all day long and brim is wide enough to cover a slim woman’s neck, decolletage, and shoulders. Seems so broad on me (a slim woman), but when I catch a glimpse of myself in a shop window as I walk in my neighborhood, I am struck by how lovely it is, and not ginormous or weird on my frame at all! It’s actually, dare I say it?!? STYLISH!I have worn this hat wine tasting in a flowy summer dress and gotten compliments on my “look.” This sun hat isn’t just for the garden, friends! Wear it to a garden PARTY, wear it to a picnic, wear it on a hike, wear it shopping with your girl friends on that charming street that has all the antique-y places!And just think, so many people are walking around in the L.A. sun carrying futile parasols or sweating away their chemical sunscreens! I have both hands free for my groceries and fun purchases and no nasty chemicals running down my neck, and better sun protection than any of those poor souls! This sun hat is just so practical, pretty, and purposeful. So glad I have two, and the quality and sturdiness is such that I feel sure they’ll last a few summers to come!

Love, love, love this Sloggers sunhat!
I’ve tried a few straw sunhats and have finally found the perfect one for me. The crown’s not too high (as many are), and the brim is wide enough (but not clumsily wide) to shield your face and neck from harmful sunlight. Not too big or too small, it fits my rather large head perfectly. I really like that the brim holds its shape too; it’s not too floppy or flimsy. I bought the Sloggers 4405ST Bridied Sunhat in Stone, and was please to find it so well made: it has a nice, wide interior “sweat band” and a lanyard to hold the hat in place on windy days (I just flip it toward the back so it stays out of the way). I was surprised at the pretty and unusual pattern of the hat–it doesn’t show well in the photo, but it’s like a light beige with horizontal brownish and white stripes of varying widths and shades throughout the crown and brim. I also like the double braid around the base of the crown instead of the usual ribbon. Yes, as the description says, it has become my favorite everyday hat! (The size is labeled inside as22 1/2″.) And, it’s packable too! (Only one complaint: they way it was packed when shipped left two small dent marks in the front of the brim; of course, it had to be the front. I’m hoping they’ll come out in time.) It’s different, very attractive, and keeps my face and neck safe from the sun’s rays.

Protects from sun exposure
I really love this hat so much so that I did not realize it at the time, but I actually bought the exact same hat as the one I have been wearing daily for about 10 years. My old hat is still in great shape, but a little faded. The new hat fits snugly. Love the tight weave it has. Love the style. It is a great hat to reduce sun exposure. You won’t be disappointed.

Great hat
My second of this exact hat. I wore my first one for 3 years of gardening, travel, rock hunting and everything else outdoors. It’s just a great hat, but I wanted one to take on my upcoming cruise that hasn’t been getting beat up for years. I looked around at other hats, but none compared to my Slogger. The rim is the perfect size to block the sun without being super huge or too small, it’s airy but tuff at the same time, it pops back into shape after being mashed in a suitcase…just a great hat. I 100% recommend.

Provides shade, but the material isn’t that tightly woven
(Editing a couple of months later — I haven’t even worn this once. There really is too much light poking through, so I keep going back to my plain cotton hats. It’s cute, and if you’re not concerned with really getting that UPF 50+ or whatever, this could be a good choice, but I really need something that will block out sunlight.) This is a cute hat (and shipping was fast — really fast). The brim is wide, and it will definitely give you shade and some protection from the sun. The label claims the hat provides 50+UPF, but when I hold the hat up to light, I can see through the weave. I don’t mean that the material is a bit sheer — I mean, I can see past the stitches and bands of material and see pin-point-sized spots of unblocked light. So I’m not sure how much UV the hat will truly block. (I guess you’ll get some ventilation?) That being said, it is absolutely better than nothing and will keep most of the sun off your head, face, and neck. The hat arrived well packaged for shipping but was not itself sealed in plastic, so cleaning at least the liner before wearing would be a good idea. The brim keeps its shape well but does make a rustling or crinkling sound when you move it.

Long Lasting Hat
If you need a good sun hat, this hat from Sloggers, is for you. I have had my hat for almost 15 years until our new puppy chewed it up. I had to have another one. The hat is made of 65% paper and 35% polyester. I have worn it to water parks and fishing. It has gone through chlorine and salt water. Its hand washable and easy to reshape. The drawstring gives you a perfect snug fit. Not only is the hat functional, it is very stylish for casual or dress up and easy to fold up. I ordered my original color, brown, along with Grey, black and white, blue and Lavender because Amazon had a 50% off coupon!

We just took a trip, where I had a hat with no chin strap. The wind kept blowing it off of my head, so when I came back home, I looked on Amazon to get a good hat with a chin strap. This was the hat that caught my eye and I ordered it to see if was good. I can say that I’m very happy with it. The hat is good quality, looks really stylish and the chin strap is sturdy with a bead to keep it in place. I may get a couple of other colours as I use these kind of hats when travelling and to the beach etc. It folds well and can be packed in a suitcase for sure.
