Full face protection
I wore this hat walking the Camino for a sunny week in Portugal and Spain and it did not disappoint. The brim is wide enough to protect the entire face and the “ponytail hole” in the back kept my long hair off my neck and helped me stay cooler. It packs flat and weighs almost nothing. I’ve also worn it doing yard work. Durable, functional, high quality, light, and it doesn’t look too bad style-wise. It’s the perfect sunhat.

Amazing sun hat, great coverage
I absolutely love this thing. The coverage is amazing, it stays put, is comfortable, and is easy to pack. It is not the most stylish but I bought it for coverage, not for looks.I wore it on a 14 mile hike in strong Northern California sun in July and it was awesome at keeping the sun off my face and neck.

Super cute color and very lightweight breathable, and good quality and finishing. Great coverage! Ponytail opening is a little tight but not a big deal. I am able to pull my hair through and not need a ponytail holder. The l/xl is very large. I have a large head for a women and this is very roomy but adjustable so I kept it because the chin strap takes care of any wind gusts. I bought another hat that was uncomfortably snug and hot to wear.

Great neck protection, great face protection, brim depth and coverage exactly right – LOVE!
I love, love, love this hat! I’ve used it for years, and then somehow I lost it mid-safari in Africa and had to use other hats to shade my face/neck. So I can tell you that the brim is the perfect depth and has the perfect coverage of my face – the baseball cap at least had a ponytail slot so that was good, but no ear or neck protection; a similar neck-protecting vented hat had way too wide a brim all the way around. That extra fabric blocked my ears, so I couldn’t hear as well (and others couldn’t hear me as well, either), and it acted as extra material to catch the wind to tug it off my head.I’ve packed it with me on many trips and it “folds” fine. That is, the crown doesn’t really have a shape to lose, it’s very unstructured. I wouldn’t fold it into eighths or cram it into a corner of a suitcase, but it would probably be fine with a spritz of water and spreading it out in its right shape. The hat is very lightweight and the mesh vents are great. The ponytail opening is very welcome, and it’s very easy to adjust.It’s not couture but I think it’s rather fetching compared with some of the “fisherman’s hats” that are out there. Other reviews make it sound like it’s “cheap” or “flimsy,” but I’m not sure what they’re comparing it to. It IS very lightweight, but it’s water-resistant, easily hand-washable, packable, easy to use, and sturdy enough to have lasted 5 years before my tragic loss at an airport in Africa!

Keeps sun off head, face, neck and still breathable so head doesn’t cook.
Finally found a hat that doesn’t make my head hot but keeps the sun off. The ability to put neck flap up or down is very nice also. Works great for hiking, fishing, sitting on beach, or yard work.

Hat came slightly dented in the brim as it was packed in soft plastic. Pls relook the packaging. I dont understand how an expensive hat like this sd be so shoddily packed.
